Thursday Thoughts

I didn't go to work today, I have bronchitis and a sinus infection. So henceforth, was my opportunity to work on my blog. It is easier to sit home in my pj's and blog away than to go to work. I posted so many pictures today, cried a bit at the memories and laughed at some too. I feel so grateful to have such fun kids and to have such great memories of the past few months.
I think one of the highlights for me was having all 3 kids go through the temple at the same time. You teach your children and you plan for the day when they can be worthy to go through the temple and not once did I ever expect that they would all go through at the same time. It was such a spiritual experience, pure heaven on earth. I can't even express the joy I felt as that day unfolded. My cup runneth over.
Then to have a daughter get married to the right man, in the right place, at the right time, was priceless. We just love Jesse so much. He served a mission here in Ohio and we met him then about 7 years ago. He was our favorite elder. We kept in touch with him and watched him get married, have a child and then a divorce. I never in my wildest dreams thought that he would ever be my son in law. BUT, I am so glad that he is. He has a darling little boy , Porter, that we love so much. We are so glad to be able to be a part of Porter's life as well.
Then to have the experience of sending not one, but two children on a mission is amazing. David is now serving in Ottowa, Canada and loving it. He went into the MTC a week after Mackenzie got married. Then about a month later, Abby went into the MTC. When we dropped Abby off and we were getting the luggage out of the car, we heard someone say, "how's it going?" and we turned around and it was David!! We all immediately started crying and hugging. He looked so good and kept telling us to keep it down because he wasn't supposed to be out there! It was amazing to see him, he was so happy and you could just feel of the spirit he had. When he hurried off back into the building that he came from there were about 25 missionaries waving and yelling to us from the doorway!They had apparently been waiting 1/2 hour for us to arrive. It was well worth breaking that one rule!!! It was so good to see him.
It was great to have Abby and David in the MTC together. They sent pics and wrote letters of seeing each other. They had the same P-day, so they would meet up in the laundry room and do laundry, hang out and write letters. Abby will be leaving on Dec 30th to head to Spokane Washington. She will be speaking Spanish and David is speaking French. So exciting!
So alot has happened, all of it good. I feel so exhausted, happy, tired, joyful, blessed, sad, peaceful all at the same time of the events of the last few months.... i really think my kids were seeing how far they could push me over the edge, throwing all this at me at once.... he he he. They forget, I raised them, I know what they're like.
